The recurring format is what makes it powerful — a standing Tuesday means zero scheduling negotiation, and missing a week doesn't break anything because the team plays on. It also scales socially: new coworkers, partners, and friends-of-friends slot into a trivia team instantly because everyone contributes something (there's always one person who inexplicably knows every 90s one-hit wonder). Start it when your group wants to see each other more but can't survive another round of 'when works for everyone?'
Suggested timeline
- 7:00 PM — Claim the table: Send two people early — good tables at popular trivia bars go 30 minutes before start. Order food before the first round so it lands between questions.
- 7:30 PM — Rounds one to three: Settle into roles: the sports brain, the pop-culture historian, the one who's weirdly good at geography. Debate every answer, but let the confident one write it down.
- 8:30 PM — Halftime: Refill round, food catch-up, and the traditional argument about the answer you changed at the last second.
- 9:00 PM — Final rounds + the wager: The final-question wager is where trivia nights are won and lost. Bet big when you're behind, small when you're ahead — someone should own this decision.
- 9:45 PM — Results + next week's pact: Win or lose, confirm next week before anyone leaves. That 30-second ritual is what keeps the streak alive.

Tips
- Lock a team name early and never change it — the bar staff knowing your team is half the fun.

- Never shout the answer. It sounds obvious until the table next to you thanks you for the point.
